Singapore’s first social enterprise cloud kitchen- The Social Kitchen, aims to serve two meaningful purposes: to provide jobs for vulnerable groups while helping local food brands survive the Covid-19 economic fallout.
Besides ordering online from the various local F&B brands under The Social Kitchen, you can also dine in at its flagship central kitchen which officially starts operations today (1 Aug 20). With its huge glass window panel on level 4 of the YMCA building in Orchard Road, The Social Kitchen provides a pleasant natural light-filled environment for chit-chatting with friends and family over a meaningful meal.

HELP LOCAL F&B BRANDS SURVIVE COVID
“The pandemic has hit many heritage food and beverage brands really hard, some as old as 90 years old. The main challenge for them today is manpower and rental. The creation of our cloud kitchen will give them a fighting chance in today’s Covid-19 world”
Alvin Mark Yapp, co-founder of The Social Kitchen
HELP THE DISADVANTAGED WITH JOB OPPORTUNITIES
“All the F&B companies operating in The Social Kitchen are committed to hire people from disadvantaged communities such as people with disabilities, single mothers, low-income families, and their caregivers and family members so they can work side by side.”
Ang Kian Peng, co-Founder of The Social Kitchen
The social enterprise has partnered YMCA in an initiative to hire persons with special needs. The Social Kitchen plans to grow to 50 kitchens across Singapore.
